Why cat likes to sniff my breath?

I'm just curious if anyone knows why our kitten (she's 7 months old) likes to sniff mine and my wife's breath so much. I find it adorable. She does it usually once daily after I've been away for a while (sleeping or came back from work). Kitten seems super determine to smell nose or mouth as soon as I exhale (like it's trying to steal my breath LOL). I'm thinking of it as a way of for her to say "Hi, where have you been, what you have been eating?"
