If the son will not bear the punishment for the father’s sins?

The scripture states a person who sins will die. Then, it speaks of our salvation. The wickedness of a father or a son is upon that person. We all sin, but we have the choice to be righteous or wicked. Our decision determines our salvation after our life here has been paid for by death.
