How can I get volume?

My hair always lies flat against my head, like Paris on Gilmore Girls. I want some volume like all the girls have on F.R.I.E.N.D.S. How can I do that? What products could I use that won't make my hair look greasy? Or how can I make it dry with volume? Any suggestions please! Awesome! Thanks so much!
